Heidelberg · Marktplatz Neuenheim
Once a year Marktplatz Neuenheim turns into a little piece of Spain: live music, flamenco and rumba on stage, paella from the giant pan, tapas, a children’s programme – and 2,000 to 3,000 guests dancing into the evening. Free entry.
Spanisches Fest Heidelberg is a one-day neighbourhood festival on Marktplatz Neuenheim. What began in 2021 as a small idea from Heidelberg’s Spanish-speaking community is now one of the fixed summer dates in the Neuenheim district – with a stage programme from midday until night, Spanish and Latin American food, and an audience from Heidelberg, the Rhine-Neckar region and far beyond.
On stage are artists from Spain, Germany and Latin America: flamenco, rumba catalana, Latin and fusion. Add to that clown and juggling shows for families, an all-day children’s programme and stalls serving paella, tapas, croquettes, gazpacho and jamón ibérico.
This was the line-up of the last edition – a good idea of what to expect at the next Spanisches Fest in Heidelberg.
